Traveling from Granada to Paris in Dec ideally by train with my two 20 something kids. We'll spend one night in Barcelona on way to Paris . Any suggestions best way to break up the trip into 2 manageable segments in two days from Granada to Barcelona? Other than an overnight in Madrid?
Spain is currently working on construction to increase track speed around Granada. I would not normally expect trains from Granada to Barcelona to skip Madrid, but some current options do go via Antequera-Santa Ana, Cordoba, and Zaragoza, without stopping at Madrid. There is also a direct overnight train from Granada to Barcelona. You'll have to check schedules again in the fall for early December. Railways will probably make their biggest annual changes on Dec. 13; for schedules after that date, you won't get details until much later, especially if Spain is in the process of making a significant adjustment.
