Granada, Seville or Cordoba for New Years Eve

Hi there we live in West Wales Cardigan Bay & i am starting a Spanish/French degree in September, my husband & i , are planning a trip to Andalusia for 10 nights arriving December 28th flying into Malaga, we have 3 teenage boys age 13, 15 & 19 , who are all really big foodies! And one of them is incredibly sporty , the oldest loves to see new places but does have adhd so we will have to incorporate a few rest days so that he's not too overwhelmed. We were thinking .....
2 or 3 nights in Granada as we really want to see the Alhambra
3 or 4 nights in Cordoba or Seville,
and the last 4 nights in Malaga so that we are nearer the airport for on the way home & so that we can see the three Kings parade in Malaga on the 5th Jan .
does anyone have any suggestions on where would be best to spend NYE? We're happy to buy some nice nibbles for in the apartment and wander out around 11.30 , and would 3 cities be too much in 10 days ?
Many thanks for any help or suggestions

Though each city is a good choice, I would say Seville based on your description. It's a food paradise, especially the jamon, with hundreds if not thousands of tapas eateries. You also mentioned sporty -- Seville has a bullfighting ring. Seville is also a walking paradise. It's big and diverse enough so that one section section of the city has a different flavor than another. However, Cordoba, which I also visited, is also very good for food and wandering.

Overall, your schedule looks good.

Hello to Wales! I once visited Swansea.

We did this last year with an 15 year old. Arrived Dec 28, left Jan 6.

Madrid > Sevilla for 4 nights
Day trip to Ronda (would skip though teen enjoyed the scenery)
Train > Granada for 3 nights
1 night in Cordoba.
1 night in Madrid.
Flight home

In hindsight, I wish we had stayed longer in Cordoba (left on a late train to Madrid instead of early one). And did 2 nights in Granada, really just for Alhambra :-).

Our trip highlights: cooking class in Triana in Sevilla, flamenco show (we are big music people and even though we don’t understand Spanish, we were very impressed), rooftop tour of cathedral in Sevilla, tapas tour in Sevilla, all things Sevilla, Cordoba Mezquita, Alhambra in Granada. We did NYE in Sevilla in our apartment — bought tinned grapes and watched on TV. That’s as all we were up for as we had a packed itinerary.

We are also big into food and did a tapas tour in Granada, which was very different from Sevilla, but we did it on Jan 2, which is a holiday in Granada. On Jan 1, also a holiday in most of Spain, we did a train ride to Granada and the Hammam Arab baths. Very chill. Maybe not ideal for more active teens, but for ours, it was fine.

We found we need to slow down and stay much longer in a place. Just as we were starting to enjoy ourselves, we had to move on.

Thankyou! That's a great help Jolie Nc , we do want a less hectic schedule & so we've now decided, 3 nights Cordoba from Dec 28th this ties in better with transport options from Malaga , then 3 nights in Granada from Dec 31st, Tapas tour on Jan 1st & visit Alhambra Jan 2nd , then 4 nights in Malaga.
We've decided to leave Seville until our next trip as we also want some downtime to just enjoy each place etc
