You could always try looking on booking.com or expedia.com and search using the parking option. Then, book directly with the hotel or apartment. Or, look in Rick's guidebooks - he lists several options in Granada and includes parking info. Beware it's a little tricky to drive in the center of Granada.
We vary our lodging costs and options while traveling in Spain with a car. There is an IBIS in Granada, 2 km from town. Across the street is a huge Walmart type store with a wine bar. Besides the Alhambra, the living quarters on the hill and the smoking Catholic school girls outside their school the store was fascinating. Our memorable eating experiences were outside Granada. Did you know there is a Costco in Seville? No, I did not go!
We are at the AC Palacio de Santa Paula, Marriott, leaving a couple days before you arrive.
On-site parking, fee: 21.18 EUR daily
Off-site parking, fee: 25 EUR daily
As the previous poster indicated, if there is parking, don't assume that it is free.
On our last visit to Granada we stayed at the no frills Hotel America. It's right at the Alhambra and made it a great place to take a break from viewing the palace before going back to visit it again. Hotel (pay) parking is in the lot for the Alhambra and is about a 10 minutes walk away. You can drive up to the hotel to drop off/pick up baggage, but must park in a main parking lot. We enjoyed the hotel for the two nights we were there, but I will say up front, it isn't for everybody.
When we went into town, we took the bus that runs very frequently. It dropped us off by the cathedral and royal crypt. We did take a cab to the San Nicolas overlook, but from there walked back to the main part of town via the Arab bathes, and Albayzin. The only hotel I remember is the Jardines Alberto very near the Alhambra.
As already noted, the Hotel America is inside the Alhambra and has parking, either a 10 minute walk away, when I stayed last year, the hotel took the cat to the lot for us. As Jaime noted, it's a great location but not for everyone (we liked it). There's also Hotel Alixares across the road from the Alhambra, I considered it but didn't stay there as I opted for the Hotel America.
I'm not bad-mouthing the America, because I've never stayed there. But there is some value to (... at a hotel that's not up on the hill) having dozens of walkable restaurants and the other attractions of Granada (we took the city bus to the Monastery, too far to walk). I don't dispute that it's a touristy city, but it's also a beautiful city. And you are giving up something to stay "up" there. Perhaps just as memorable as our visit to the Alhambra was the long sunset diner at a "Carmen" overlooking the Alhambra. And a city walk home to our hotel.
We had returned our car upon arrival in Granada, having rented in Seville. I think we went to the airport in Granada (airport bus), but it could have been the train.
I will admit that we chose one hotel in Germany because of adjacent parking, but it was still walkable (adjacent, even) to the important parts of Weimar. This is not like picking a Motel 6 because "everyone" has to drive a half-hour to Disneyland!
We considered staying at Hesperia Granada, now known as NH Granada Centro Hotel. According to their website, this hotel has parking available.
Since I was traveling with my (then 88 year old) mother, I opted for a hotel closer to the city center.
However, we did stay at three other NH hotels (popular hotel chain in Spain) during our trip in Spain.
There's another NH hotel in Granada, NH Collection Granada Victoria, which is closer to the city center, but it's more expensive than the Granada Centro Hotel. It looks like this hotel also offers parking.
All NH hotels offer a delicious hearty breakfast buffet (extra cost) which I highly recommend.
If you decide to stay at any NH hotel, do join their rewards program and you'll receive a 5% discount on all your bookings.
You can contact an English speaking NH hotels reservation agent by calling +1 212 219 7607 ( toll free #) from any U.S. number.
I called several times since I wanted to verify that the hotels I was considering had working elevators and not too many stairs!
Have a wonderful trip!
Disclosure: I do not work for NH hotels.
Not that it changes or invalidates any of the above answers, but just to make clear: there are no "motels" per se in Spain.
There are no "accommodation premises where you park in front/near of your room and can walk in from the outside straight into your room" to be precise. This is not a common type of premises in Spain -neither in most European countries for that matter. Obviously, this is not to say you won't find any at all... after all is a big country.
What you'll find plenty of are regular hotels that are near a main road. They might or might not have a parking lot of their own -most don't- but you'll be able to park nearby, but not necessarily for free -as mentioned above.
I would not hesitate to stay at a NH hotel or an Accor hotel. GIT outside of Seville had free parking in a garage below the hotel and a so, so breakfast. I might have a slight hesitation for GIT hotel in the future.
