Granada in April

We are a party of three and would like to visit the Alhambra. Are the audioguides from the Alhambra sufficient or should I hire a tour guide? I understand the Alhambra itself doesn’t offer tours. I’ve contacted one guide mentioned in Rick’s guidebook who turns out to be busy. I’m waiting for one more response.

Secondly, we are going to Cordoba next. The train times aren’t convenient so I’m considering renting a car for just the drive. Are there any rental agencies that you would recommend for pickup in one city, Granada, and drop off in an other, cordoba? Thank you very much. I really appreciate this community of travelers.

I did the audio guide, but honestly it’s spectacular and I’d tell my friends to spring for a human guide. You probably don’t need a guide for the gardens, so that might be a good parting point

Yvonne - I recommend Auto Europe. You can pick up a rental car in one city and drop off the next.

You can pick up the rental car at the Granada train station where Auto Europe has a rental office then drive to Cordoba and drop it off at the Cordoba train station where Auto Europe has a rental office. Look at both of the links..

DearChris and RJean, thank you both for the valuable information. I’ve hired a tour guide and will rent a car. Yvonne

My family and I booked a private tour in January with Margarita Ortiz de Landazuri, who is recommended in the Rick Steves Spain book. She is responsive and easy to communicate with. Her email is [email protected] and here is the website: http://alhambratours.com/

We did Alhambra in the morning, then took a lunch break and met Margarita again for a tour of Granada sights. She was fantastic - best tour we've ever done!!
