We will be arriving in Granada on November 7 for two nights. I am looking for a hotel where we can park our car for two days. I've been in touch with a few hotels. Their parking off site. One requires us to park in a lot and take a cab to the actual hotel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
It is not common to have hotels with on site parking - if you are looking at centrally located hotels. If there are any, chances are they are already booked. There are some apartments with on site parking, but that isn't what you asked.
If you use something like Booking dot com to at least research hotels/apartments with parking it can narrow it down for you. It might mention onsite parking - anticipate hefty extra costs....in fact, I did a dummy test, and Hotel Plaza Nueva has onsite parking for 20E - reservation required. It is central but looks not too hard to get to. remember that a lot of the city has no driving for cars except some limited hours early and late in the day...except taxis or buses.
At least using Booking to short list your options, you can filter out what doesn't fit all your criteria, and then you can look at a map for proximity. Some might recommend using a hotel outside city centre and bus or tax into the city. If not experienced driving in ancient cities with streets so narrow that one has to tuck in their side mirrors, it might be a little daunting.
On my last trip to Granada, I stayed at the Hotel Ana Capri. Parking garage was a block away from the hotel and cost €16.50 a day. Hotel had a convenient "unloading zone" at its front door. It was located in walking distance to sites in city center and convenient to public transportation to visit the Alhambra.
I've stayed in Granada with a car twice. Both times it was a trade-off of location vs. parking. The first time we stayed at Hotel Saray it's a bit of a walk to the old city, but has its own garage and is easy on/off from the highway. The second time was Hotel America on the grounds of the Alhambra, valet parking to a close lot. While it's on the grounds of the Alhambra, it's a ways (bus) down to the city. We also considered Hotel Alixares, across from the Alhambra. If you're looking to stay in the old part of the city, I think you will find more of what you have seen already, car access is limited and on-site or nearby parking is scarce.
Thank you for your suggestions. We booked a two night stay at Hotel Anacapri.
