Granada: FYI arriving by bus and Alhambra

Hello! we are finishing up our trip to Spain and just wanted to share a few things we learned that differed from the guide book (2018 version). I tend to take Rick’s word as gospel truth, so I thought someone else may benefit from our updates ;)

1) If you are arriving via Alsa bus (we came direct from Sevilla), the bus you need from the terminal is 33 to get into the city. It heads toward the cathedral, Plaza Isabel and Plaza Nueva. The numbers must have changed, do not waste time looking for SN1. I’m guessing this is a recent change, even the place we stayed told us SN1.

2) The fare per person is €1.40 (slightly higher)

3) The Alhambra TI at Corral del Carbon WILL NOT print your tickets out from your reservation, there is no ticketmaster machine. Believe me, we tried. I speak basic Spanish and my husband is fluent, so it was not language. We also tried the nearby city TI. You must go to the main entrance at the Alhambra, so we were glad that we allowed extra time. I was trying to save my kids extra walking, but it worked out just fine.

4) I saw someone post about the red minibuses numbers changing already, but just in case: they are now C30 or C32. That was no big deal, they are still easy to spot. Remember to save your receipt if you rode another city bus, we were able to transfer at no charge (there may be a time limit on this, it did not say, we transferred within about 45 min).

Ours was a super quick overnight to see the Alhambra, (this trip we mostly focused on Sevilla) but it was SO worth it. Bon voyage!
