Hi there,
My husband, 11-year-old son, and I are going to be in Granada for 2 days in August and want to tour the Alhambra, but we would really like a guided tour rather than making our own way through trying to read Rick's self-guided tour. Does anyone have recommendations for a great tour guide or company we could book with?
Thanks!

Another option is the audio guide offered by the Alhambra. I mention this because I think it's difficult to predict how much time you'll want to spend at the Alhambra, and you are allowed only one entry into the Nasrid Palaces. Unless that's the final stop on your tour, you will not be able to return there after your guide departs if you want more time. Photographers in particular should be aware that a lot of extra time may be required to get pictures without many other tourists in them.
Take a look at Spain Day Tours and their reviews on TA. Haven't used them yet, but have looked into using them as a shore excursion from Malaga this fall.
My husband and I booked a private tour in October with Margarita Ortiz de Landazuri, who is recommended in the Rick Steves Spain book. She is responsive and easy to communicate with. Her email is [email protected]
I second Margarita. She took us through the Alhambra in October 2019 and got us around the lines at various points of entry where we would’ve wasted time on our own. She was very interesting and we had a lovely time.
We just took a tour last weekend with Margarita (mentioned above). I’ve been to the Alhambra multiple times before, and she was, by far, the best guide I’ve ever had. We were two families with 7 children total ranging in age from 8-16 and she really held their attention and kept things interesting. I highly recommend her!
