The Parador at the Alhambra looks wonderful and is super convenient for Alhambra visits. It is expensive, which is why I've never stayed there.

I like the area near plaza nueva/plaza Santa Ana - you are close to both the main town and the Albaycin, and can walk to the Alhambra if so inclined. It's a steep walk though. El Ladron de Agua is where I stayed first (after that it was air bb apartments). I've also heard good things about Casa Morsica.

I stayed at the Roommate Leo hotel a few years ago and was very pleased. It's very close to a big plaza with lots of restaurants (sorry, I can't remember the name) and to the cathedral. It was a great area and the hotel was very nice with a roof top terrace that faced the Alhambra.

We are scheduled to stay at the Comfort Duaro 2 hotel, which is a Best Western. From the reviews it seems to be a fairly good hotel, and the price is pretty comparable.

I also.stayed at the Best Western Duaro II two years ago and feel it is a great hotel. It has it's own bar and restaurant, with both inside and outdoor seating. The hotel rooms are extremely comfortable and very large, by Spanish standards. The hotel staff is very attentive and helpful and I very highly recommend this hotel.

A colleague of my wife stayed at the Posada del Toro last year. We have booked two nights there for our trip this month based on her recommendation

Jack, I'm really excited to find out that some of the hotels we've picked for our trip are exactly the ones you've stayed in! I'm feeling more confident in our trip!!
