Good Hotel near Barcelona airport?

Hi all,

I am looking for a clean, reasonable, quiet hotel near the Barcelona International Airport.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I used Salles Hotel Ciutat del Prat last month. Shuttles to airport, in a small town so can wander up the street for a grocery dinner, something local, or their fine dining restaurant. Had a full bathtub and bathroom larger than a closet (for a change from my Spain apartment bathrooms). Extremely quiet sleep. Book directly on line for a free welcome drink.

Hi Maria,

Thank you SO MUCH for your advice!!

I saw this one online, and it looked pretty good, but I was hoping to hear from someone EXACTLY like you who had actually stayed there.

Thank you so much again!

Glad I could help. Depending from where you are coming from, they have good directions. I was arriving from a drop off at BCn and direction of how to get to the shuttle stop included screen shots of corners and landmarks. (It is a big airport and shuttlemis a little far). There is a train/subway station not far from the hotel, so I expect they can provide good directions from Barcelona as well. They were fairly prompt with emails and English communication was good.

Hi Maria,

I really appreciate your telling me that there is a train/subway station not far from Salles Hotel Ciutat del Prat!!!

We will be staying there for one night. Turns out we fly in around Noon from Seville (at the conclusion of a 14 day Rick Steves Spain tour), then would like to spend the rest of the day downtown in Barcelona, then we will fly back to the U.S. early the next morning.

Therefore I was wondering how difficult it would be to get into downtown Barcelona from this hotel.

We want to stay close to the airport because our flight leaves around 7 AM the next morning.

Did you go into downtown Barcelona from the hotel?

Thanks again,
Virginia

... don't want to spook anybody... but make sure your stroll in the area is northeast of the hotel, NOT south, much less southwest.

I would like to point out though that there's no practical reason for looking for a hotel "near" the airport; for one, the area is rather dull and unattractive -and some parts of El Prat de Llobregat are best avoided altogether- but also because the travel time from Barcelona, be by bus, be by train or metro, to the airport is less than 40'. Also note that there is 24h service between the city and the airport, from 5am to a bit after midnight by regular bus #46, express bus (Aerobus), metro L9 or train, and the rest by a night bus... and taxis, of course, thousands of them! Just sayin'.

Thank you so much for your reply, Eric!!!

I'm never too fond of staying close to any airport. I just didn't realize how easy it would be to get to the airport from any hotel.

Thanks again!
