GIBRALTAR 2026 -

Hello! has anyone visited the Rock of Gibraltar since the Cable cars have been closed? I'm doing some research and are very disappointed to learn that The City under Siege exhibit and the Moorish Castle are closed too! :(. We will be visiting in May, 2026.

I wanted to know if the ticket to Nature's reserve includes apart from the St. Michaels Cave the Great Siege Tunnels and WWII tunnels. Does anyone know?

And also, all we find are either tours to get to the summit or you have to either walk or take an e-bike. Does anyone know if you can take a taxi to the top just to drop you off, no tour? thanks!!!

I would imagine you could just get a taxi to the top and walk down.
However, the taxi tours available from the border or from in town are well worth it. The drivers are knowledgeable and enthusiastic Gibraltarians and you get to see the siege tunnels and the caves (as well as the macacques).

I'd echo Lin's comment. I've taken a guided taxi tour in Gibraltar on two occasions. Both were minibuses where you can travel with other tourists or have the vehicle to yourselves (at an extra cost). Both times we took the tours that were offered at the border crossing (you'll spot them easily and likely be approached by drivers soliciting your custom). The drivers are all keen locals, very knowledgeable and proud Gibraltarians.
