So our spring trip to Eastern France didn't survive the cut. However, we are still holding out for a late October trip on the Camino de Santiago, Portuguese coastal route. We will be taking our time, traveling from Baiona, Spain to Santiago over 12 days (only one 20K day). We have covered from Lisbon to Esposende last fall. Does anyone have suggestions on getting to Baiona from the U.S. ?
If this is for Baiona, I’d look at flying to Vigo airport, then taking a bus to Baiona with a connection in Vigo (see www.rome2rio.com for bus companies). Even though flight schedules might be better to Porto, the infrequency of bus and train options across the border will eat up any time savings.
Or fly into Porto, PT. We took a taxi over the border to pick up a Spanish rental car. We enjoyed Baiona with it’s seafront setting and seafood restaurants. Columbus history too as the Pinta returned to Spain there. We stayed at the Parador there and recommend it highly.
