Getting to airport in Madrid

Hi All,

My family is very much looking forward to our upcoming trip to Europe for a trip that ends in Madrid where we begin our journey home on a Tuesday morning. We will be staying near the La Latina metro station and I am worried about getting to the airport for our 7:45am flight to Amsterdam to reach our connecting flight.

Anyone with experience who can chime in on options would be most appreciated. Two adults, two young teens. Each with a Rick Steves classic bag. I figure a taxi might be the most reliable option.

Thanks!

That early, a taxi would probably be your best option. However the airport bus does still run very early, albeit from Plaza Cibeles (pretty sure) instead of Atocha.

If it were me, I'd probably use the taxi instead of getting up even earlier.

Almost anytime you are more than two people with bags it is a good idea to use a taxi.

A taxi from the center of Madrid to the airport is a fixed €30 and no extra tip is required. For four people, that's not only going to be easier than any other method, but also cheaper. Just ask at your hotel if you will need to book a taxi the day before (particularly one large enough to hold your group plus their luggage).
