Gaudi Tours October2024

I am looking for tour recommendations for Gaudi architecture. I would like to see Casa Mila and Casa Batlo. We will return for a tour of the Sagrada and most likely a stop at Parc Guell. Open to groups or private tours. I believe Casa Mila has a night tour where you can view the lights. Is that recommended over a day tour? We are flexible with times. There are a lot of choices for different ticket types and company tours. We are looking for your reviews on companies specifically.
Thank you.

I suggest that you go to the Search Box at the top of the page and type in Gaudi Tours. You will get. a lot of results. The first few will be Rick Steve's tours and from then on, you will get members asking a question similar to yours.

Then, too, members on this site might directly answer your question.

I am going to be following because I will also be in Barcelona come October 2024.

The buildings in central Barcelona were amazingly expensive so we passed. The Sagrada church is amazing and the park at the top of the hill is a great visit - but be prepared for some serious uphill walking to get there. Also be advised that all of these places are swamped with tourists.

Thank you for you reply @bostonphil7. I did search prior to my post. Maybe I am not going into the right areas? I found posts that were incredibly dated some even from 9 years ago. I found one post from 4 months ago but it was not helpful to my particular search. I love this site and I have never been steered wrong. However, this is the second time I have been told to search before posting. It is not particularly helpful. If there is guidance on how I can better search I would gladly take the advice.

Another suggestion

Try Facebook. Try searching Barcelona Guides, Barcelona, Barcelona Information etc et. etc. and a lot of pages will come up. You have to join which is easy to do and then you can post questions.

I have joined two but there are several others.

Members are in Barcelona or have been or are going. they ask questions. They give answers . they give reports and reviews.

Other persons offer tours, both private and group.

I have heard good things about Spain Day Tours and booked an excursion with them going to Montserrat.

I agree that the search function is not user friendly. Try this: type "Gaudi Tours" in the search bar, when a screen is returned select "Travel Forum" - the top option on the "Filter by Type" on the left of the page, you will then get a "Filter by Date" option and you can request 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years. At a quick glance, I saw some posts that might be helpful for you.

I was in Barcelona in March this year. I self-toured Casa Mila and Casa Batllo and found the audioguides perfectly adequate. For Casa Battlo - I purchased a Gold ticket because I wanted to see the furnished apartment: https://www.casabatllo.es/en/experience/
Casa Mila I visited on my last morning before catching a flight - so I picked that experience based on my personal itinerary and time. https://www.lapedrera.com/en

I am probably cynical, but I think all the options offered by the two may be more marketing hype than substance...... I did enjoy my visits, but I wouldn't stress over which option to choose.

I would be leery of any company offering a "tour" to either of the above - I suspect it is best to book direct with the venue. I can't believe they would allow private guides in, but I could be wrong.

You can search RS's part rather than the forum for his advice. I just searched the forum for something, and posts come up from 10 years ago, and they were closed after a few short responses. So there are many dead ends. You can also consider TripAdvisor if you can skip all the high priced tours they advertise. I usually buy some other guidebooks on apple's bookstore, so I can access them on my phone or computer while traveling. Once you hit the ground, you can find a tourist office or ask your hotel concierge for local advice. You might do some research yourself - for example go to Google Maps, and find the directions from the Familia Sagrada and the park, and note how long of a walk, and what change in elevation.
