We are a group of 4 seniors traveling from USA, arrival in Barcelona mid March. We are considering having one of the private car services do a pickup at the airport in Barcelona and transfer to our hotel in L'Eixample. Does anyone have information about a reliable company that offers this type service?
PS--many thanks for previous help with our trip, from the use of the informal in language--Enric, to the others who advised about Sevilla to Granada transport, etc. The bus sensitive ones are going to cope with that and plans were adjusted to allow an overnight in Cordoba. We leave in a few weeks, I've started to add Catalan phrases to my limited Castillan--hoping the Catalans are patient!
If you are staying near Placia Catalunya your least cost (and in my opinion easiest) is to simply take the AeroBus.. It goes right to Placia Catalunya. I typically stay near that area within a block or two.
Generally I'm not much for Airport bus transportation, but this works very easily and is my preference. .Just follow signs downstairs and you pick up there. You can pay in advance on line or at a kiosk.
If you aren't staying near Catalunya or need to be dropped off directly at your hotel door step (which can be difficult in some places anyway) I can't offer you any advice as I'd probably just grab a taxi as they are abundant and relatively inexpensive (relatively). You can generally find a larger/van taxi which will accomodate 4 Passengers.
Barcelona Airport is not too distant from Eixample in the centre, so the extra comfort of a private car would not be a great necessity. Considering space and luggage capacity I would lean towards each couple getting their own regular taxi.
Not worth... plenty of alternatives and much cheaper options, hence the reason there are very few companies offering private transfers.... >90% of the visitors and nearly 100% of the locals don't use them.
Depending exactly where you're going in l'Eixample there are one or more options, but I need the exact address. L'Eixample is a large district!
and... --- use Google Translate, if you must, but I warn you that Mr Google doesn't get it quite right sometimes.... the last sentence needs to a bit of deciphering, albeit in the end it makes sense, LOL!
Enric, so Mr Google helped me translate your elegant phrase. His Catalan pronunciation is not so elegant--very robotic but I am ready to see the smiles from ear to ear as I try out my Catalan phrases. Again, many thanks to all who help on this blog....we have a lot of good info!
... here to help, LOL!
