Donostia-San Sebastián (with an "a"), a working city of 185,000h, is one of the world capitals for gourmands, and the choice of restaurant is huge, plenty of non-Michelin restaurants. I tend to like BODEGÓN ALEJANDRO, www.bodegonalejandro.com/, cozy place, you have to go downstairs for the restaurant, feels like at home; XARMA, www.xarmacook.com , for avant-garde cuisine, CASA UROLA, fantastic product-product-product; RITA RESTAURANT, https://restauranterita.com/, avant-garde and good price; CASA 887, https://www.grupo887.com/, classy and a mix of different cuisines...and so many others!

And then of course, the pintxos (which are all over the Basque Country), never a meal for us but an appetizer while socializing with friends and family, with a glass of wine, standing, and normally just one per bar...

The city can be easily visited in just one day, do you have plans for other visits in the area? Public transport is excellent, cheap, safe, reliable and extremely clean, you can visit Getaria to the west and Hondarribia and Pasai Donibane to the east. Come prepared for all kind of weather, this area is known to be quite rainy, but you never know...
