Flying to Barcelona via Frankfurt

We are getting ready to purchase our plane tickets for Barcelona (in Sept.), and the best flight we've found is through Frankfurt. However, we would fly from USA to Frankfurt on Condor, have a 2 hr layover, then fly out on Lufthansa to Barcelona. I'm concerned about getting from Condor to Lufthansa. Lufthansa and Condor used to be owned by the same company, so I would assume that they are located together at the airport, but I also know what happens when you assume. I've checked the airport map on-line, but it doesn't show the locations of either airline. It does say that each airline can use either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. Clear as mud. Does anyone have any experience with these airlines and transferring at Frankfurt? Thanks, everyone.

Where are you flying from?

If I look up tomorrow’s Condor + Lufthansa flight to Barcelona from Seattle (flights DE 2033 and LH 1132), Flight Aware shows them both at T1 at Frankfurt. But that may not be the same in September.

Try searching for Thomas Cook at Frankfurt Airport; that is who owns and operates Condor flights.

We're flying from Minneapolis-St. Paul in Minnesota. I've read some blogs that say Condor may be up for sale, but when I looked that up, Lufthansa is the one who wants to buy it. So I'm not worried about the flights being cancelled if the sale happens before Sept. Maybe this is all worry for nothing, but I'd rather be prepared. The best I can make out on the Frankfurt airport map is that the airport has a shuttle between the two terminals that takes 2 min. With a 2-hr layover, we should be good. i just don't like last minute surprises, and I sure don't want to miss our connection. Wish there was a non-stop from MN to Barcelona!

Airlines always use the same terminal in Frankfurt unless there has been some sort of major problem at one of the terminals. So, you will fly in and out of Terminal 1.

We are considering using Condor + Lufthansa for a flight to Geneva next year. The connection time at FRA is 2 hours 5 minutes. I asked on TripAdvisor in the Air Travel forum is that is sufficient and the answer by several was that it is fine.

Thank you, Lola. That's exactly what I was looking for! I did see on Expedia that the flight in and out of Frankfurt is through Terminal 1, at least for now, so we should be in good shape.
