Flying from Seville to Madrid

Hi all, We are looking to fly from Seville to Madrid in mid-April. We already have tickets to fly back to the US from Madrid. My question is: does any one have tips for good airlines flying out of Seville to Madrid? Reliable (Most important) and cheap (if possible).

Thanks all!

Gina,

Check Vueling or Iberia airlines for this flight.

Check this website for best prices: http://www.skyscanner.com

A different option, if you choose not to fly:

Take the AVE (high speed) train from Seville to Madrid. Travel time is 2.5 hours.

Once you arrive at Atocha station in Madrid, you can take the Cercanias C-1 line, directly to the airport.

You may also consider spending the night before your flight in Madrid.

I would not fly to Madrid the same day as your overseas flight. You are not protected if your Seville flight is late arriving in Madrid, or cancelled. And I have seen complaints on Tripadvisor regarding cancelled flights at Seville. If you do choose to fly the same day, you need to allow 4-6 hours between the flights, which I would consider a waste of time. And even then it could go wrong.

Priscilla has offered some good suggestions. Travel back to Madrid the day before, late in the evening if you like. And take the train---it is actually faster than flying, by the time you add in travel time to the airport and necessary security time.

There are decent hotels within walking distance of Atocha station---we stayed at a 4* business hotel!for 90€ a few years back. We walked back to the station in the morning and caught the yellow airport bus. Quick and easy, and stress-free.

I also recommend the train. It's way less stressful than dealing with Vueling or the other budget carriers...

I'll add my voice to the rest. Train is the way to go on that trip. It's less of a hassle, quicker and more reliable than flying. Plus an added bonus is that you get to see the Spanish countryside while you're traveling from one place to the other.
