Has anyone taken to Granada to Madrid fight? It is only an hour and would save the hassle of a 5 hour ride. I am wondering if i should be nervous about doing this for any reason!
What hassle and what 5 hour ride? Train from Granada to Madrid - city to city - is just a tad over 3 hrs. That 1 hour flight will take as long, if not longer and getting to and from airports is way more hassle than the train. If you don't like trains and would rather fly, fine. But I sure wouldn't do it.
Use the new AVE line between Granada and Madrid, only 3:15 hr, you'll love Spanish high speed rail, nothing like the trains in the US. For just a short distance, flying will be the actual hassle. The train takes you from city centre to city centre, while for flying you'll have to travel to the city outskirts to get to and from the respective airports.
Thank you! I really appreciate your replies. With all this good info I might. Start traveling more!
Yes I took that flight with Iberia as an add on to my overseas flight. It was great. Better than having to hoof it to the train station with jetlag. But if already in Madrid take the train. You need to consider the time invested to get to the airport, check in, and the required wait time. Now with the high speed train, it is comfortable and similar amount of time. Certainly more personal space than economy airline:-)
