Does anyone know if you can spontaneously book a flight from Sevilla to Barcelona while in Spain or do you have to book ahead from Canada? We are flying to Barcelona arriving October 12th and return from Barcelona on Nov. 2nd ( 3 weeks) and will follow Steve's 2 week trip that begins in Barcelona and flys home for Seville. We could not get a flight from Seville to Toronto with our points and are thinking of flying from Seville back or Barcelona and then flying home..

You may be able to buy a spontaneous ticket when you get there. However, like regular airlines and trains, there is never a guarantee that something will be available once you arrive. If its a date and time you can't afford to miss or a price you can't pass up, you'll need to book that online before you go. If you wait until you get there, there may be some availability but if not you'll want to have a back up plan. Look on www.skyscanner.com for budget flights. You can get direct flights between those two cities on Ryanair, Vueline, and Iberia Air. I hope this helps some.
If your ground itinerary is set, what's the point in waiting? If it's not, then you could give us the details of your itinerary and we could make suggestions on the most efficient way to get back to Barcelona. If you can change your int'l flights, can you return from Madrid? It's easier to get to Madrid from Sevilla. It's also easier to get to Barcelona from Madrid.
Thanks to Chani and Abe for the excellent info. We have perused the sky scanner site and it is very helpful. With our flights being point driven business class it is not easy to change so our Barcelona arrival and Barcelona departure will stay but we now have other options with your help. As "with-it, happening" 72 year olds my husband and I enjoy the comfort of business class...

So you are following Rick's 2 week tour itinerary, but doing it independently stretched over 3 weeks? This gives you 8 extra nights to play with. Are your plans already set? Consider this, with a flight from Barcelona to Granada, and the rest by train.
