Flight from Malaga or Granada

Our last stop in Spain will be Granada. My quandry is whether to fly from Granada airport home to London--which requires a stop, or bus to Malaga and fly non-stop from there. I understand the travel time from the town of Granada to its airport is 45 min. And the bus from Granada to Malaga is 2 hours.

I thought easyjet fly direct from Granada to London, at least they did but perhaps it's seasonal or not daily. Have you checked?

Otherwise, I'd only note Granada is a tiny airport, not much crowding and fairly relaxed. Malaga is a pretty major airport - not Heathrow or JFK, of course, but still can be crowded and have queues. On the other hand, if you've got to change aeroplane from Granada, that wouldn't appeal to me for such a short journey, so I think I'd be tempted to use Malaga. But only you can decide, I guess! Is the 2 hr bus to the airport or to the city, in which case you'd need to change for the airport, of course. Also the Malaga bus probably leaves from Granada coach station which is a bit away from the centre and perhaps means an extra bus/taxi trip from your hotel. The Granada airport bus picks up in the city centre, near the cathedral.

Is it a stop or a plane change? And you still have to get from the bus depot to the airport in Malaga. Either way, I think it would be a lot of hassle to bus to Malaga and then the city bus to the airport. I mean, what are you gaining by going to Malaga? Doesn't make any sense to me.

Actually, you can get the bus to go directly to the airport in Malaga from Granada bus station. It's a 2 hour ride

Are you sure about that? We made that run a couple of years ago. There was no direct bus to the airport. We had to take the bus to the bus station and then catch the city bus to the airport. Between waiting for the city bus and the ride to the airport, it added at least another hour.

Nick, Thank You! Just checked and EasyJet does fly non-stop from Granada. You saved me stress and strain. Thanks to the rest who weighed in on buses. I always get friendly and very useful advice on this site.

Frank, pretty sure about the bus to the airport in Malaga. I took it 4 years ago and I just looked at he Alsa schedule and it does show the trip. Makes it very convenient.
