Looking for flights for our family next summer to get from Barcelona over to Paris. I've seen a few different carriers: Trasavia France, Ryanair, Vueling. Reviews online are all over the place from horrible to not bad. Anyone have experience with any of these that can provide honest feedback? We will have bags to check, so already know that we'll be paying for that fee which is fine. The other alternative seems to be Air France, but they are 2x the cost.
Personally I'd rather walk than fly Ryanair for all sorts of reasons. Others may feel differently.
I have only had good experiences with Vueling, a low cost subsidiary of BA/Iberia.
Another thumbs' up for Vueling. We flew them from Nice to Barcelona, nice flight and crew experience.
Have you considered doing that by train? Especially if you're spending some time in Paris.
It's about 6 hours, and it's city center to city center.
We've flown Vueling a few times--Grenada to Barcelona to Paris and vice versa. They got the job done. We also flew Transavia from Palermo to Paris, Orly. Again, no frills, but they got us from Point A to Point B. With both airlines, I seem to remember boarding a bus, then boarding the plane outside. But, then, we also boarded a bus at JFK and boarded on the tarmac for our DELTA flight to CDG, so it's not just the small airlines.
I'd at least compare the train, too--two hours in the sky but with considerable time investment on either end getting to and from and within airports, so just under 7 hours on the train does not look so bad.
