Our family of four with two teens will be in Madrid in late January. Looking for a flamenco performance, possibly with dinner. Considering Las Carboneras, as mentioned in the RS guide and elsewhere on this forum. But - in the itinerary I have sketched out, I would ideally like to do this on a Sunday night and from their website it looks like Las Carboneras doesn't have dance performances on Sundays. Can anyone confirm if that is indeed the case? Any recommendations for other venues? Or should I just adjust my itinerary and try for Las Carboneras on Saturday or Monday?
Corral de la Morería is supposed to be the best.
Honestly, I would not get dinner at a flamenco show. Madrid is one of the best restaurant cities in the entire world. It seems silly to me not to take advantage of that. There are a few really great restaurants that have live music if that's of interest.
For great food and flamenco, there is really only one place in the city:
Thanks, I'll take a look at Corral de la Moreria. We have three full days in Madrid, so will definitely have opportunities try other restaurants as well. My thought with "dinner and a show" is just that it would simplify planning for one evening.
Good idea..I'm happy to offer some restaurant ideas..
We went to Las Carboneras on our Rick Steves tour last week. Really enjoyed it. Have you thought about a good tour? We really enjoyed that too
I would consider a food tour. However, we have some food allergies, and some tour options I've looked at either flat out say that people with allergies cannot participate or strongly discourage participation. But if you have a suggestion I will take it and do some research.
Thanks for understanding I meant food not good tour. We did a couple Eating Europe in Madrid and Devour in Barcelona. You could email them to see about food allergies. They both asked but I would ask up front. Probably depends on the allergies. I would do Devour over Eating Europe.
Our Eating Europe tour in Madrid was very good but they cancelled our Barcelona and Seville one with not much time to find others. Which is why we did Devour in Barcelona. Think they are new to the Spain market and don’t quite have their act together there. Hope they do soon they have great tours in Rome.
