We (3 of us) will be visiting Barcelona end of June beginning of July for 3 days. I would appreciate any hotel recommendations. I am not sure which areas are the best to stay in so any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you
You need to provide more information. 3 adults? Do you need a room for 3 people? What is your budget? What are your minimum requirements? Barcelona's sights are spread out. Being close to a metro station may be more important than which neighborhood. It depends to some extent on what your priority sights are.
3 are three adults and we need two rooms, so an apartment would also be good. Our budget is moderate and we´d like to stay near the Cathedral.
"Moderate" means different things for different people, and a mid-priced hotel or apartment will have a very different price in different cities. You'll get more suggestions that are useful to you if you give us a nightly budget in euros.
Sooo, you want to visit at the beginning of July... and you're starting your search now? Barcelona receives over 18 million tourists every year (city pop 1,7 million) spread across the year, but July and August peak with over 1,5 million every month. Just sayin'
I'd try airbnb. Four of us stayed in a great part of town near the Ramblas. It was well priced (less than $110 per night,) had a kitchen, living area, 2 bedrooms and amazing rooftop patio.
Metro is good, cabs and Uber are plentiful so I wouldn't worry about being near the Cathedral ...(are you referring to La Sagrada? If so, I don't believe it's a Cathedral. If you intend on visiting, buy your tickets on their website NOW and do a tour of the tower...INCREDIBLE
We really liked our four points by Sheraton hotel which was very close to sagrada Familia. Also very close to a subway stop and a really nice shopping center.
There is a Cathedral in Barcelona (not in the same neightborhood as la Sagrada Familia), and we stayed across the street from it at the Hotel Colon. It was lovely, rooms for this July and August are something like 200E per night.
