First attempt at detailed Andalusia itinerary

Our final decision is made to visit Andalusia in December of 2025. This is a mother daughter trip, first trip to Spain. My daughter is in college. I would love any feedback about a proposed itinerary. Did I make any gross errors, such as attractions not being open on certain days or time of day we are planning to visit? All opinions welcome and apologies for any typos.

Day 1 (Sat Dec 6, national holiday) - Fly into Seville from London, dinner and wander
Day 2 (Sun Dec 7) - Real Alcazar and Cathedral of Seville, La Giralda; evening La Tunas at Plaza del Triunfo
Day 3 (Mon Dec 8, national holiday) - Plaza de España, Parque de María Luisa, Barrio Santa Cruz;
Evening look at Christmas lights Plaza de la Encarnación or Puerta de Jerez; Maybe a Christmas Markets at Metropol Parasol and/or Alameda de Hércules
Day 4 (Tues Dec 9) - Triana (Triana Market, museum), anything left over; Christmas lights not seen before
Day 5 (Wed Dec 10) Morning train to Granada, Walk around Albacin, Sacramonte including museum, Night cave Flamenco show
Day 6 (Thurs Dec 11) Alhambra, walk around Centro, Cathedral evening Christmas lights?
Day 7 (Fri Dec 12) Morning train to Cordoba, Afternoon visit to Mesquita, ; Patios (if Christmas decorations have started??)

Day 8: (Sat Dec 13) Cordoba Synagogue, Casa Desearad, Roman Bridge, Jewish Quarter; depart for Madrid by train around 5 pm
Day 9: Fly home from Madrid

Granada and Cordoba do feel a bit squished. I could take the last afternoon from Seville and donate it to another location, but the extra time in Seville makes that part feel more "relaxed".

Thanks in advance!

What I like about Sevilla is that you have lots of places you want to see, but most can easily be moved to different days if need be.

I can’t speak to transportation between places since I always have a rental car.

The good news is that since you are flying in from London, there is presumably
(hopefully) no jet lag and you can make use of Saturday and be able to go full
out starting Sunday.

I think you could spend a long time in Seville, but given your total time available,
I would consider taking the train to Granada the afternoon of day 4 and give yourself
2 full days in Granada.

The time allocated to Cordoba is not plentiful but it is enough.

Another option might be, if your flight home is in the afternoon or evening, to spend
night 8 in Cordoba still, spend day 9 morning as well, and then head directly to the
airport around midday. While there is some risk in that plan due to potential delays,
you should be able to make a 5-6pm flight. Or, spend night 8 in Cordoba and just
head to the airport first thing in the morning of day 9.

Thank you all so far!

I did fail to mention that I will be dealing with jet lag. My daughter is studying in London. I am flying to London from Oregon, leaving on Dec 4th and arriving on Dec 5th. Will try to push through and start to adjust my schedule on the 5th but I'm sure I'll still be tired.

If you have time in Cordoba, I highly recommend the Hammam Al Andalus. The Arab baths are wonderful.

That sounds lovely! Hopefully we can squeeze it in.

Unfortunately our flight leaves at 10:45 am from Madrid on Sunday, so my comfort level is to get to Madrid the night before.

If you have not booked your flights yet, I would consider flying into Granada as it's so much fun on the weekend. J

In Cordoba, the synagogue takes about 10 minutes to see. Casa de Sefarad can be short or long, depending on your interest. I've visited twice, the second time I took their guided tour, enjoyed it and learned some interesting things. I also recommend the tower on the other side of the Roman Bridge which has a very good small museum and nice views from the roof.

This is similar to a trip we took between Christmas and New Year’s. I think it sounds good and I wouldn’t take time away from Sevilla for the other cities.

Ideas if you want activities: cooking class in Sevilla, Hammam to relax, perhaps on the national holiday on arrival? (there are ones in Granada and I think Cordoba). Tapas tour (be prepared to eat nothing else the entire day!). Also suggest guided orientation tour for Sevilla.
