Hi. Going back to Spain for the third spring in a row April). Love the country! Any advise regarding a day trip from Sans station to Figures. Slow train vs fast train? Can you walk from the station in Figueres to the museum?

I guess it depends on how much you want to do in Figueres. The fast trains will save you close to an hour (or a bit more), but they will cost more, especially if you want to remain flexible and wait until you get to Barcelona to buy your tickets. I opted to stay in Girona for several nights and took a regional train to Figueres and a bus on to Cadaques, thereby avoiding the plan-ahead vs. pay-extra decision.
The other issue with the fast trains is that they go to a different station, Figueres-Vilafant, and it is about a mile west of the Dali Theater and Museum. You may need to zoom in or out on this Google map to see the locations of both the Vilafant station and the museum. The other Figueres station is SE of the museum and somewhat closer, but still probably at least a half-mile walk.
There have been other forum posts detailing how to get to the museum from Vilafant. You might be able to find one by using the Search function. I'm sure there are buses, but I don't know how frequent they are.

In Figueres you can also visit:
- Museu de la Tècnica de l'Empordà
- Museu del Joguet de Catalunya (Toy Museum)
- Museu de l'Empordà (Art Museum)
- The Castle of Sant Ferran (fortress)
- ... you have also other nice spots in the city full of heritage and culture and some walking routes.
