Ferry from Barcelona to Menorca or Mallorca?

We are two families with 3 teens/tweens between us. We will be spending a week in Sitges (outside of Barcelona) and have 3-5 extra days to spend before we fly home from Barcelona. Thoughts on taking an overnight ferry to one of the islands and back? Ideally, we would spend 1-2 nights on the island. Definitley overnight at least one way, and probably high-speed the other way.

Thanks!

My go-to site for ferries in Europe is this site:
https://www.directferries.com/

Look up routes first, and then go directly to the operating companies website. The biggest in this case is Balearia, but there are also services by GNV and Transmed.

Thank you! We love ferries for travel and have used that website before. Any thoughts if the trip itself is worth it for 1 or 2 nights?

Why would you want to overnight on a ferry with so little time available? I would want to maximise my time at the destination (Mallorca for me) so the fast ferry there and back would be my choice. Dining out during the evening in Palma is infinitely better than eating on the ferry.

An even better option would be to take the earliest flight to really maximise your time.
