I'm trying to coordinate a day to visit the Feria de Seville next April. From what I've gathered, it might take place from 19-25th, or usually two weeks after Semana Santa. It all seems really festive and interesting, but it is also for tourists? Is it worth staying the extra day in Seville to experience this? Also, if we stayed in Seville until the 19th, is it going to be harder leaving town with the crowds (train). Thanks again.
The \feria in Seville is a big affair, but most of the casitas at the fairground are private. There will be impromptu groups of musicians and dancers throughout town, but its primary attraction is not for tourists.
We once found ourselves at the Cordoba feria, and when we asked if we could go into one of the casitas for a drink, the reply was, of course, this is not Seville!
Thank you, Lin C. I was able to find a more extensive post about what you're talking about. The whole affair sounds fairly private in Seville, and although you can partake as a foreigner or tourist, it sounds kind of cumbersome and crowded, especially on the first Sunday (which was the day I was shooting for). I'm not sure it would be enough to keep us in Seville for that, and our time in Seville might be better working around the feria, and leaving before it starts. It would be cool to see everyone dressed up and great photo ops, but not if it's limited to tourists. I'm going to plan around it for now.
