Favorite restaurant in Seville?

We'll be in Sevilla April 5-11, looking for restaurant suggestions, best tapas, great bars, wine, etc., especially off the beaten/touristy path. Feeling a little overwhelmed by all the options!

After a very cold snowy winter in Chicago, all I want to do is sit on a patio, drink wine, eat tapas and people watch.

Our hotel is Las Casas de la Juderia on Calle Santa Maria la Blanca...would especially love reco's in the neighborhood for our first day, before we have a chance to explore further.

Thanks!

Not to rub it in, but while you were in subzero temps and under several inches of snow last month, I was sitting in the sunshine with friends, enjoying the best wine and tapas in Seville, probably in all Andalusia. Not pricey either. It's a 10-15 minute walk from your hotel (my hotel was just the other side of the Santa Maria Church from yours).

From their paper napkins: Bodeguita Casablanca
C/. Adolfo Rodriguez Jurado, 12 (Frente al Archivo de Indias Avda Constitucion)

One of the people I was with was a native Sevillian who was surprised that we had managed to stumble on this place without his help. On my last visit, he took me to another place, one of his favorites, Catalina, at Paseo Catalina de Ribera no. 4. This is in the opposite direction, about 5 minutes' walk.

Hello Laurie,
I always enjoy spending time at the very local Plaza Alfalfa. It is perhaps a ten minute (slow) walk from the cathedral. There are a couple of very good cafes/tapa bars there, as well as an excellent Italian restaurant. Many other bars and restaurants dot the route between Alfalfa and the cathedral area.

Hello Lauriegood -

My husband, son, and I were in Seville between March 12 and March 15, 2015. Each night we went to a different restaurant / tapas bar. The one that stands out and I think is the best (by far) is La Azotea.

Here is the review that I wrote about the restaurant on Trip Advisor.

"This restaurant came highly recommended by someone who lived in Seville for many years. We wanted to celebrate a special occasion, so we called the restaurant to make reservations for that night and we were informed that they do not take reservations. We were advised to be there at 8:15 PM since the restaurant opens at 8:30 PM. We arrived to the restaurant at 8:15 PM and were the first in line. At 8:30 PM the restaurant opened and by 8:40PM it was completely full. We ordered many tapas such as the the small clams in white sauce, the grilled octopus with mashed potatoes, the sea bass, the grilled vegetables, the cheese and shrimp filo dough parcels, and the beef fillet with potatoes and grilled jalapenos. The food was out of this world. It is so hard to say which was our favorite dish or which plate we did not like. Each plate was mouth-watering, savory and delicious. The service was impeccable. Our waiter (Yousef) was very professional and advised us on what to order. He was always there to clean the table and provide new plates and cutlery after each tapa.
The whole night was a treat. If you are looking for an awesome meal while in Sevilla.. This is IT!! "

Enjoy Sevilla.. What a beautiful city!!

Would second Vineria San Telmo. The owner/chef is Argentine and the menu is a mix of gastropub and traditional. They were offering a wonderful Ribera de Duero for 3 Euros the last night we dined there.
