We are 2 older adults traveling to Barcelona with our 12-year-old grandson during Holy Week. Looking for suggestions for a moderately priced hotel in the Gothic Quarter with a room that can comfortably fit the three of us. Also open to suggestions of another neighborhood that might work. This is my first time in Barcelona so I appreciate any guidance. Thanks!
I was there a couple of years back and stayed at Hotel Continental Barcelona which was suggested to me by some on forum. I was very happy with this hotel and would stay again.
Someone else on forum who is very well traveled suggested HCC Montblanc which is in the Gothic District.
We stayed in the Eixample neighborhood, which is very close to the Gothic quarter. We really liked that neighborhood.
No moderate prices, especially on special dates like the Holy Week. Personally, I feel a hotel in l'Eixample or Gràcia is better than in Barri Gòtic, but that's my view anyway. The latter is ideal for visiting, not necessarily for staying (noisy, dense and certain areas can be a tad dodgy at night)
