Familia Sagrada-Again

Check the web site for the Sagrada Familia....you can purchase your tickets on line in advance...or from a ticket broker as well....at any rate, if you have your tickets, you go to the head of the "long line" which may extend around the block, At the head of the line, (the entrance) you will see a short line (if any at all) from the opposite direction. That is the line you will get it and admission will be fast.

Enric, who is one of the Barcelona experts recommends the afternoon. We chose to do first thing in the morning and loved being in the cathedral before the crowds. We were also there in early May, however, we were there on a weekday. We chose to do the audio guide and our travel companions did not. We also went up one of the tower elevators. The tower is very narrow - you pretty much go up, take some photos and come back down.

It is a stunning place and deserves all the attention is gets.

Hi Patty, I only recommend SF in the afternoon to those willing to do Park Güell in the same day since it's far less hot -especially in summer- at 9am than at 4pm so it's best to visit the park as early as possible. If one's visiting only the SF then as early as possible, as you did, will indeed save you from the crowds -again, except in summer, where there are crowds at all times!

George, I wouldn't risk visiting without pre-booking, Barcelona receives visitors all year around, and SF is one of the most visited places. I bet you wouldn't want to waste too long queueing especially in a time and age when a lot of people do pre-book online precisely to avoid that, do you? :))))
