It's a long story, but after planning a 3 week trip in Spain & Portugal, we have to extend for an additional two days. We have reservations in Valladolid for the original last three days of the trip, after which we had planned to head to the Madrid Airport to spend the night before our noon flight. So from Valladolid we need to head somewhere and I am considering either Valencia via Cuenca (to see the hanging houses) or to Zaragoza via Burgos. Any recommendations on which would be the better choice? (We've already been to Barcelona and the rest of our itinerary is pretty extensive.)
Door #2. No question.
I enjoyed Burgos and other northern cities on a brief visit, and would like to explore more, so I also would stay on the northern route.
The cathedral in Burgos is worth the trip.
Sorry, Wonderful. I know my question a little confusing but I was trying to convey that we had an extensive itinerary for the three weeks, including Madrid, Toledo, and points south and west (including several days in Portugal.) We have already factored in time for day trips to Avila and Segovia from Valladolid. The extra two days are being tacked onto the end of all that and I was considering how to use that time to add on places we had not already covered. Really the choice was between Burgos and Valencia, and I think Burgos wins.
Thanks for the advice, everyone.
