Extra day in Sevilla

Hello!
We will be visiting Sevilla in a few weeks and find that after seeing all the sights we will have an extra day. Any suggestions on how to use it? Options we are considering include: day trip to Cadiz, day trip to Jerez de la Frontera, hang out in Sevilla, or something else. FYI we already have a day trip to Cordoba planned. Appreciate any input thanks!

Sevilla is a good place to have an extra day: I visited only once, in 2013, and it instantly became a favorite European city.

If you'd like a tour by a local, try Sevilla Walking Tours, https://www.sevillawalkingtours.com/, led by Concepcion Delgado. She's wonderful and brings the city alive.

It's worth seeing the Alcazar, the royal palace, in Seville.

The Teatro Flamenco Triana is a good place to see a flamenco performance.

Since you're going to Cordoba, it's worth seeing the Mezquita, the town's mesmerizing half mosque, half church.

How many nights will you be in Seville? I don't know what is on your sightseeing list, but it's possible you may need that extra day for more sightseeing in Seville, or just for wandering around and exploring this beautiful city.

Listed below are some sights we found very interesting and enjoyable, but I know there are places we didn't have time to visit:

Real Alcazar - outstanding - don't rush -take your time and savor this amazing place
Seville Cathedral and climb the Giralda to the belfry.
Beautiful Plaza de Espana
Jardines de Murillo - stop for drinks
Spend some time in Triana - visit the Triana Mercado
Casa De Pilatos - a lovely small palace
See a flamenco show
Take a carriage ride
Explore Barrio Santa Cruz
Mercado Barranca - have lunch or dinner here

I know there are other smaller palaces in addition to Casa De Pilatos; more churches to visit; art museums.

Seville is a gorgeous city with exquisite architecture, many plazas, flowing fountains, lush parks; and great monuments. It's a city to get lost in and savor.

I haven't been to Cadiz or Jerez so I can't really compare.

Or, take a local bus to the Roman ruins of Italica where 2 roman emperors were born and some Game of Thrones scenes were shot.

Both Cadiz and Jerez make excellent day trips.

Jerez if you want to visit the sherry bodegas or see the horse show.
Cadiz to walk along the sea, the historic center........

My friend, Shawn Hennessy, writes a superb blog about Sevilla, where she has lived for decades.

She has just begun a series about day trips from Sevilla.

Shawn runs sherry tours in Sevilla. I took one a few weeks ago and highly recommend spending an afternoon doing just that, if sherry is of interest to you. We met at Bodega E. Morales, a fantastic bar/restaurant celebrating its 175th anniversary. It could serve as a film set for Sevilla and the food is excellent, and inexpensive. We got to try about ten different dishes and about eight different varieties of sherry and learn to pair them with the food.

Shawn's groups are always small; my group had a total of three persons.

She gets incredible reviews on TA for her tours.

She will post her take on a day trip to Jerez in upcoming weeks.
