Extra day between Ronda and Córdoba

We have an extra unexpected day between 2 days in Rhonda and then two in Cordoba. So Ronda, another crown for one night, then in Cordoba. Can anyone recommend another city to visit and stay overnight that makes sense? A city between Ronda and Córdoba? We will be in Seville after Córdoba. Thank you so much!! Gina

Don't travel to gain another notch for the "been there" list, especially for one night.
Invest by adding another night to Cordoba and allow yourself to peel off a couple more layers of experiencing this town.
You will also save money by not adding travel expense.
BTW: a favorite shopping experience is to seek out clothing consignment shops (often found adjacent to markets located away from tourists zones). It is a nice experience and, at deeply discounted prices, resulted in acquiring wonderful clothing creating another memory which you can wear back at home. Just imagine being able to respond to a compliment of your clothing........"This old thing? why it is something I picked up in Cordoba Spain."

Antequera has a lovely historic city center BUT the main train station 19 km away. You need to look for Antequera-Ciudad. From the Ciudad station, it's a 1-mile uphill walk (or short taxi ride) to Plaza San Sebastian, in the center of the center. I stayed at Hotel San Sebastian there, quite nice, and there's enough to keep you busy for most of a day. Don't go if you'll be there on Sunday (much closes early) or Monday (much is closed). From what I could understand on the Renfe website, if you buy a ticket from Ronda to Antequera-Ciudad, the train currently goes only as far as Antequera-Santa Ana, from there Renfe provides a shuttle bus to Ciudad.

I find a string of 1- and 2-nighters to be very tiring. I'd spend the extra night in Cordoba, which just happens to be my favorite city in Spain. Use the time to go out to Medinat A-Zahara, and see some of the lesser but lovely sights in the city Palacio de Viana (and its patios), the Al-Andalus museum in the Calahorra Tower, a horse show at the Royal Stables, and more.

We stayed at the Don Miguel Hotel in Ronda- The view from the hotel was simply breathtaking! Itoverlooks the gorge and bridge. The hotel itself is simple - small rooms and hard to get wifi in the rooms, but it is available in the lobby + cafeteria area. Totally worth it for the view! Fantastic breakfast included in the price! In Cordoba we stayed at hotel boutique. It was fine. Hard to live up to the Ronda location! Enjoy your trip!
