My husband and I will be visiting Spain in August. We would like to take an escorted bus day trip from Seville to Granada to visit the Alhambra. Does anyone have suggestions on the best tour company to use?
My first reaction is that I don't think you can find such a trip to Granada. I would go to the the Seville web site and see if anyone is advertising such a trip. The demand for such a trip might not exist.
It would be at least a three hour if not more for a bus trip one way. That would severely limit the time at the Alhambra. Alhambra needs at least a half day and your visit to the palace is a timed entry that is only 15 minutes wide. So I don't think it is practical from Seville.
Laura,
I just googled, "day trip Sevilla to Granada", and found a couple of options.
Having said this, I would not recommend taking a day trip from Sevilla to Granada.
As Frank and Nicole have mentioned, you're looking at a 6 hour round trip journey.
You'll have very limited time to tour the Alhambra, and not much time for anything else.
IMO, Granada deserves at least a couple of days, so do consider staying there, if you have the time.
Keep in mind that it will be very hot in Andalucía in August.
Enjoy your trip!
Thank you for all your responses. I know there are quite a few different tour companies that do day trips to the Alhambra from Seville. I was hoping someone may have used one of them and could offer their opinion on the company. Thanks again for your advice.
