I am leaving to visit Spain next week and have the below COVID related question in regard to travel to/back to the US:
1. Health control form - When do I need to submit it? I read somewhere it has to be less than 48 hours before departure.
2. Will self-administered antigen test sufficient to be allowed to come back to US? We are flying AA

From the Spanish Travel Health app/website: You must complete the entire Form from the website or the app, and from 48 HOURS before the flight you can send the form to the health authorities. Once sent you will receive an email with a QR Code that will allow you to access the destination airport. You must have it printed or on your mobile phone.
I can’t help with your other question. We intend on going to a clinic or have someone administer it at our hotel.
For the return you’ll need to check with your airlines
I believe the self administered test as long as it is the proctored version is acceptable
Must be done within ONE day of departure
NOTE THIS IS A FLUID MATTER and there are different rules/approaches every day so one needs to keep on top of the matter by visiting the proper information sites EVERY DAY.
As an example, today (Dec 16th) FRANCE has toughened the rules for UK visitors:
"from Saturday, people coming from the UK will be required to have a
negative Covid test of less than 24 hours. Once in France, they will
have to self-isolate for a week, but that period of quarantine can be
ended after 48 hours if they have a second negative test once in
France. Compelling reasons will be needed for entry, which includes
visiting family - but not tourism or non-urgent work reasons. The new
measures apply to everyone regardless of whether they have been
vaccinated."
