My husband and I will be spending a week in Madrid this May and are interested in a day trip. We have decided on Toledo or a combo of Toledo and Segovia.
First I would love input from those who have done it, if it’s best to do deep dive just in Toledo or do a combo?
Also, I really want an English only small group tour and have found it difficult to identify which tour companies can provide this. Can you recommend one?
TIA
There’s tons to see in Toledo during a daytrip from Madrid— far too many sites and attractions to be able to add Segovia on the same day. Toledo is 50 miles south of Madrid, while Segovia is 60 miles north of Madrid. So, trying to cover both on the same day is going to burn up hours just in transit.
www.GetYourGuide.com offers English tours of Toledo.
You should do both cities, but not in ONE day.
I don’t see how you could combine both on same day trip, they are in opposite directions from Madrid, 2 hours apart, that would be about 4 hours in transit for the day
Where have you looked?
Most tours will tell you in their info if they are for English speakers, many are
Get Your Guide does not operate any tours, they are a reseller.
Look at their offerings then find the actual tour company and book direct
I agree with not trying to see both Segovia and Toledo on the same day. Each is an hour from Madrid and they are a two hours drive from each other.
Having visiting Toledo a number of times, I still spent a few hours in 2024 just wandering the streets. If you’ve never been there, it deserves a minimum of a day and probably more depending on what sites you want to see. You could probably see Segovia in the better part of a day and get a good feel for the town.
