End of RS Tour Itinerary Options?

The RS Best of Spain ends in Sevilla. Needing some itinerary insight for a rookie traveler in Spain.

Option 1

2 extra nights in Sevilla (Sunday/Monday)
day trip to Cordoba
Train to Madrid.....spend the night there (Tuesday)
Fly out of Madrid

Option 2

1 extra night in Sevilla (Sunday)...that would be 3 nights total in Sevilla including the tour nights.
train to Cordoba....one night in Cordoba (Monday)
Train to Madrid....spend the night there (Tuesday)
Fly home

I am trying to use just my credit card miles, but Skymiles cannot get me out of Sevilla. I could fly (via cash) into Lisbon or Madrid.....but the connections do not work with flight times.

Not fond of one nighters. From my research it seems as though Cordoba is worth a night stop over.

Unless you are really quite averse to the thought of moving to Cordoba for just one night, then I would encourage the 2nd option.

Sunday
Tour ends in Sevilla. Spend an extra night and enjoy more of Sevilla.

Monday
Morning train to Cordoba. Stay the night.

Tuesday
Morning visit to the Mezquita. Afternoon train to Madrid. Stay the night.

Wednesday
Fly home
