Easiest way to get to Bayonne, FR

This Spring's RS Basque Country tour starts from Bayonne and ends in Bilbao. I wondered if anyone has suggestions for departing from SEA to Bayonne? I tried SEA to BOD (Rome2Rio) then catch the train to Bayonne but there aren't many choices for arrival times for flight/rail. Would a rt flight SEA to Bilbao be better? It would be nice to see more of Northern Spain after Bilbao while we're there. Any ideas?

I would try Bilbao and San Sebastian airports. From either it would not be terribly difficult to get to Bayonne, though you might want a day early to make sure.
RometoRio is good for initial research, but it always needs to be followed up with the providers. I find Google more reliable lately. You also have to consider bus when in this region.
How many days will you be extending?

You could also fly to Paris and then take the train to Bayonne.

No personal experience, but it looks like Delta is the easiest to do a multi city trip, SEA-BIQ , and BIO-SEA, with just one stop each way.

I agree with @badger´s suggestion. Try flying into Paris. You can then take the TVG to Bayonne.

When the trip is over, and if you have extra days, you could go back to Saint Jean de Luz and Bordeaux, or you could go to Madrid for the flight home.

As a local Basque, I would take a flight to Bilbao (many more connections than to Donostia-San Sebastian) and then a bus to Bayonne (Flixbus covers this route). Or a bus to D-SS and then a bus to Bayonne. The TGV train from Paris is high speed only to Bordeaux, then it´s a fairly quick train but not high speed. Also a good option.

Thank you ALL so much for sharing your great suggestions! Arriving in Paris looks like a 5hr train ride so I'll either have to add an extra day. And yep, Delta does have several flights to Biarritz. Hmm, traveling from Madrid is another long train ride with fewer departures so maybe Mikel's tip about flying to Bilbao sounds like a shorter commute? Ok, I'll put my thinking cap on and keep fingers crossed!
*I've been training for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage starting from SJPdP in May, so ALL of this info is VERY helpful whether my husband & I do the RS Basque My Way tour this time around or not.
Muchos gracias, Merci beaucoup and Ultreia!

We did this tour in 2023 and it is amazing. We flew into Paris and then to Biarritz. Then we taxied to Bayonne. Lovely city. Go a day or two early and enjoy Bayonne while you rest up for the tour.
