Early start to Malaga airport

My husband and I will be finishing a Med cruise in Malaga mid November. We plan to spend the day in Malaga and have a 9:30 flight the following morning (first leg of the flight is to Madrid). We were in Malaga a couple of years ago and stayed at Marriott's AC Hotel Malaga Palacio which has a bus stop across the street that goes to the airport. We are trying to decide if we should stay at a hotel near the airport which seem to get mediocre reviews or stay at the Marriott and take an early bus to the airport.
We won't have luggage to worry about, just a carry on.

Does anyone know if the buses run pretty timely, and can we depend on the posted schedule to get us to the airport on time?

Bus #75 runs every half-hour from 6:30 - 23:30 daily. You can catch it at the Western end of Paseo del Parque and from outside both the bus and train stations, €1.60 per ticket. I'd confirm times locally, as schedules can change without notice. There is also a train connecting the downtown RENFE train station to the airport starting at .5:30 and taking about 20 min. A taxi rom downtown to the airport will cost less than €20.

We stayed near the airport upon arrival as we were meeting others. Best place we found was holiday inn...it was ok...on our way home we stayed downtown and did take a taxi... No problem.

Thanks very much for the information. It looks like we shouldn't have a problem getting to the airport in the morning.
