Early evening visit to Park Guell

Hi, we are visiting Barcelona mid July and due to previously booked activities are unable to visit Park Guell early morning as recommended in many forums.

I was thinking of booking one of the last sessions of the day (around 6pm) and was wanting to hear from anyone who has visited in the early evening. Is this a good time to visit?

Thanks :)

Seeing the sunset from the tiled curved bench looking over the city is special. Wander the park when you get there then enjoy sunset.

... sorry to disappoint you @racquet588, but sunset in July is at around 9:30 pm (9:00 pm by the end of the month), and by that hour the park is already closed to tourist visits. To be precise, the last hour to get your ticket is 7:30 pm.

After 8 pm, the park is reserved for neighbours and Gaudir+ pass members only. The latter is not something you buy, it's a programme mainly aimed at city residents.

But of course, as a tourist, if you're inside by 8 pm, you can 'stay' until the closing time (10 pm).

My point is that you'd need to be willing to spend at least a couple of hours inside the park to see the sunset.

My partner and I are going to be in Barcelona around the same time, and we just booked Parc Guell in the evening. Even if we don't hang around until sunset, I think the sun will be low enough in the sky for some dramatic light and shadows.
