Is route N-260 fine for driving in the Pyrenees, specifically from Sort to La Seu d’Urgell? I’ll be travelling from Vielha to Ribes de Freser in September, and that section of the route looks particularly “minor” on my Michelin map. I can appreciate that it’s a very winding route, I just want to make sure that it’s decent for tourist driving - or should I take a detour to avoid it.
We drove N260 from Jaca to Olot The road is fine...it ain't straight.
Generally, the more numbers there are for a road the more rural it is. Therefore 260 is fairly rural. However it is a Nacional (N) road, so it will be in good repair, as are most roads in the country. There will be twists and turns and it will be 2 lanes. It will pass through every town. The only issue you may have is getting stuck behind slow moving vehicles, but there shouldn’t be much traffic. The scenery should be spectacular.
Thanks for the helpful information!
I also just realized that I could check out parts of the route using Google maps street view, and so I can see that it’s a paved two-lane route, scenic and very drivable.
