Barcelona & Costa Brava drivers/car services and excursions

I’m looking for a few resources in the Barcelona area if anybody can help.

1) a driver or shared ride service from Barcelona airport to Costa Brava (Tossa de Mar)? I know we can take the bus but after an overnight flight, my family isn’t going to be up for taking a taxi to the bus station and then taking a bus so we’re hoping to find a direct route from the airport
2) We also need to get back to Barcelona/Gothic quarter a few days later. I see a ton of coastal tours going from Barcelona to Tossa de Mar, but don’t see the opposite. In my ideal, we could do a leisurely trip down the coast that includes a tour and lands us at or near our hotel in Barcelona.
3) Any specific, water based tours/excursions (e.g., sailing, catamaran, snorkeling) in Tossa de Mar or Barcelona.

  1. Can understand your point about being jet-lagged... simply catch a regular taxi (black and yellow cabs) at the taxi rank of the airport. Tons of them 24/7. Cost around 200€ to Tossa de Mar (per taxi, not per person!): https://infotaxi.amb.cat/inici

  2. Not having jet lag anymore, I'd strongly advise taking a regular bus service (~20€ p.p.) or train. This gives you the freedom to go/return at your convenience. There are plenty of services every day.

PS. For those from the US coming for the first time to Europe: public transportation is very common here and most Europeans use it extensively, it's cheap, convenient, safe, clean, quite reliable and efficient -well, more efficient in some countries, less in others. So when planning to move around, consider it.

Thank you so much for your input! I love public transportation, just after a long flight it feels like a lot of logistics. If I wanted to take the bus, would we take a taxi from the airport to the Nord bus station and then take the bus from there to Tossa de Mar then take a taxi to the hotel? If there is an easier way please let me know! There will be 3 of us traveling.

Yes, that'd be it -to my knowledge.

The thing is that you have buses every 30' and the cost per person is under 15€, quite cheaper than a taxi to Tossa... From the airport to Estació del Nord, take a taxi ( <50€ and approx 45')

Once in Tossa, it'll depend on how far is your hotel. In any case, note that Tossa isn't that big of a town anyway.
