Question is why? You will be in a country that actually produces these items and they won't be GMO.

Ditto... you'll be delighted with the local products... Actually, Spain is the ninth producer of dry fruits in the world, just behind the US -despite the latter being 20 times bigger in territory.

If you happen to visit also Catalonia and its capital Barcelona, I strongly suggest a drop by one of the oldest dry fruit stores in town, Casa Gispert, located in the Old City in Carrer Sombrerers, 23 just at one side of the famous church of Santa Maria del Mar. A must! The shop has been run by the same family since the mid 1850s and it's these days the oldest nut roaster in Europe. They still slowly roast almonds and other nuts every morning in the store in a wood-burning stove from the early 1900s. One of the delicacies you might certainly enjoy is a local Catalan product called Catànies (ka.-tah-nee-as), made with Marcona almond. The nuts are candied, covered in white chocolate and dusted in cocoa.

PS. And yes, GMO is prohibited here for most products, you get the original stuff instead :)

Spanish Marcona almonds are delicious - I would buy them there.

@thestumpsllc... if visiting Casa Gispert, invest 20' to also visit Casa Perris and Jaume Renobell, two other stores literally at a stone throw from the previous, which sell all sort of nuts, dry fruits, teas, spices, rices, flour and chocolate in bulk -albeit you can purchase it in small quantities too. Also worth visiting. More info here.
