I can’t recommend this place enough. We found it in Rick’s book. The Old Town location is excellent with beaches a short walk each direction. Ibon and Maete, our hosts, we’re helpful with directions, eating recommendations, and sightseeing suggestions. They are a nice couple. The minimalist room is very comfortable. must be the feng shui design. They are proud of their 9.3 rating on booking.com, and rightfully so. I booked direct, so I’m not telling booking.com about this place; I’m telling you.

I am wondering about the bathroom situation at Pension Iturizza. Are they part of your room, do you share, etc. I found conflicting information and wasn’t sure. Thanks!

Our room had a modern bathroom. I believe all of them do. The pension doesn’t provide breakfast, but the hosts recommended a great place a couple of blocks away. In fact, we ran into Ibon there one lunch.

Did not stay there, but can say the location is good (provided no concerns about noise). For breakfast, can recommend Maiatza, not far away, lots of natural and vegetarian options.
