Doing a cruise from Barcelona

I am taking a Holland-America cruise down the coast of Spain and then through the Straits of Gilbartar.
The first day after leaving Barcelona we stop at Palma de Mallorca. Then Alicante, Malaga, Cadiz, and thru the Straits and stop at Funchal and then down to Ft. Lauderdale. What are the best sights to see at Palma de Mallora and the rest? My first time in Europe, thank you for your information.

Priscilla, the website cruisecritic.com will be helpful to you. It has tons of information on almost every port of call in the world, plus thousands of contributors, experienced cruisers, who answer questions on every aspect of the cruise experience. I presume your repositioning cruise is in the autumn? Hope you have a fine time.

Also, whatsinport.com is a good web for what to see on your own in various ports. HA will also have a briefing prior to each port on what to see and do there. The length of time in port will demand what you can and cannot do.

Cruise Critic indeed has a lot of information, but it can be hard to find your way around the site.

To see port reviews for Palma de Mallorca, Malaga, Seville (Cadiz), and Madeira (Funchal), click on this link, then scroll down a bit. You'll see four column tabs, labeled Cruises, Planning, Ports, and Reviews. The Ports tab will have summaries of each port (useful information like what there is to do within walking distance, typical excursions, etc). http://www.cruisecritic.com/ports/area.cfm?area=42

Here are the Cruise Critic European Ports forums. Use the Spain Forum and the Other European Ports Forum to find information about your ports: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=19

And be sure to join the Roll Call for your sailing. This way, you can "meet up" with other travelers before you go, including joining them on private tours that will be better and cheaper than the ship's excursions: http://tinyurl.com/ap7h55m
