Do traffic restrictions apply to taxis in Granada?

I was reading that a large part of the historical center of Granada as traffic restrictions... even the apartment I'm renting sent me a message telling me that if I'm driving, that I won't be able to drive to the apartment due to traffic restrictions.

I'm just curious if that applies to taxi's too. Specifically will my taxi be able to take me from the airport directly to the apartment? Or will I have to get off blocks away and walk over?

I'd ask your apartment manager that question. I know that at least some streets are closed to taxis (I received a warning about that from my hotel), but I don't know whether there are some where taxis have access but a tourist's rental car would not.

I'm not sure about regulatory restrictions, for which taxis and private cars may have different rules.

But in much of the Albaicin and some of the center is physically impossible to drive cars through—the streets are that narrow or steep/steps. Those are certainly "walk a few blocks" areas.

As mentioned, ask the owner. More and more areas of historic centers are becoming traffic free, not just traffic restricted. Madrid’s Puerta Del Sol is a good example of that trend. The city didn’t just block the road, it got rid of it through the plaza altogether.
