Do they allow clothing irons in the hotel rooms in Spain?

I hope this doesn't sound like a strange question but when I first went to Italy I learned that they do not have clothing irons inside your hotel rooms. We were very wrinkled for our trip but the second time that we went we choose clothing that didn't require ironing.

I was wondering if there was a similar rule in place in Spain?

Thank you.

I don't recall seeing an iron in any of the hotel rooms we stayed at while visiting Spain, but I think the hotel would have an iron, if you ask at the front desk.
Perhaps the high end hotels may have irons in each room, but we stayed in 2-3 star boutique hotels mostly.

Have a great trip!

Edit to add...

Oops! I just realized that I misread the title of your post. Somehow, I'd read it as; do they have clothing irons in the hotel rooms in Spain.

I'm not aware of this rule in Spain, but I didn't use an iron during our trip, so can't really answer your question, my apologies.

You may want to call the hotels you have booked & I'm sure they will give you the answer you're looking for.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

When I am in Madrid, the hotel where I stay does have an iron and ironing board in the room, but I don't know how prevalent that is. Obviously, though, there is no "rule" against it. Other than that one place, I don't tend to stay in that level of hotel.

There is no "rule" that I'm aware of; it all depends on the level of hotel and the quality of the electrical systems. I've been in plenty of hotels all over Europe that have irons in the rooms. I'd guess that most budget accommodations do not. However, I'd bet many have an iron that can be borrowed from the desk.

I don't think it has as much to do with the level of hotel or electrical system as it does I guess possible damage to the room and it's contents and also an extra revenue stream for the hotels as they offer ironing and pressing service in Italy.

I can understand about mitigating risk because in our room in Venice the four poster bed we slept in was 400 years old and there was decorations that were also 100-250 years old.

Hmm, since there doesn't seem to be a definite answer with Spain I think I'll bring wrinkle free clothing.

Thanks everyone.
