Do I need an ETIAS visa to visit Catalunya next month?

Looking to see if this is needed currently or not.

Many thanks!

Also, any Covid 19 related entry requirements?

ETIAS doesn't exist yet, so you don't need one !

I have amended the referenced Wikipedia entry (as none of the normal editors have) to reflect the fact that the EES has been deferred from it's due start date of 10 November 2024 to an unspecified date- unlikely to be earlier than sometime in 2025.

Doubtless some one will change Wikipedia back as usually happens.

The Wikipedia article says May of 2025. If you are traveling April into May I assume you need it?

Unfortunately, the official site is not very forthcoming as to precise, or even semi-precise dates. This item in the News Corner is almost a year old. https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias-timeline-explained-2023-11-24_en

The wikipedia reference is from an August 20, 2024 Guardian article containing quotes from EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson stating the May 2025 goal.

When the decision about starting date of ETIAS is made, it will be announced via the official channels. So far, that final decision hasn’t been made yet. It could very well be that it’s May 2025, but it could also very well be that the starting date will be postponed again. There is no point in speculating or worrying about getting an ETIAS before the official date is announced.

The reason I’m so keen to refer people to the official website is because there are already fake websites run by scammers out there. It’s important to only use official websites, so those that need an ETIAS don’t fall in the hands of scammers and end up overpaying for their ETIAS or worse.
