Has anyone encountered any errors when trying to purchase Alhambra tickets online through the link that Rick and company provided? I've tried on two different computers (Mac and PC) and browsers (Chrome and IE) and I always receive the same message about the site being unable to confirm the credit card details. I do know it's not an issue on the card's end, since it's been working everywhere else.

There is no straight answer on why. Sometimes it requires a card that can be verified - like Verified by Visa. Have you tried several cards or AmEx?
Other options is to ask hotel to purchase for you, but the Granada card, phone to purchase, or risk trying to buy the day of visit (lining up before opening time).

Thank you, Maria! I used a couple different cards (both Visas) and was using that same link, to no success. I wonder if using a debit card would make a difference?
I encountered similar problems recently and tried different computers, browsers, and Visa cards as you did. Using an Amex card worked. Good luck!
I had a similar trouble with my credit card. I used a debit card and it worked just fine. (Which is good, since I don't have another option!) Not sure if debit would work for you, but I wish you good luck!
Using Paypal seems to be the answer that works consistently.

Notify CC have impending use. Visa Verification is a secondary security that a merchant can add to their online purchases, i.e. The Vatican. Visa Verification service is with Visa, not your bank. A call to Visa Verification service @ 1 800 654 9214 in the US. Collect to 1 480-902-7910 if outside the US. Tickets may be purchased at the Alhambra site.
Thank you, all, for your input. After countless attempts with various combinations of cards, computers, and browsers, I finally thought to bust out an older card that I hardly ever use anymore, and for some reason, when all other cards failed, this one worked.
I experienced all the same problems with the website. Worked on it for over an hour, trying 3 different credit/debit cards and called my bank... no luck
Finally This worked for me.
Go to the Alahambra ticket website.
Look at the Web page's upper right hand corner.
Look for area that lists options ...Spanish or English
I Selected "English" .......(Do not use the Translate option)
Then the ticket website worked smoothly

Look into purchase of a Granada City Pass. It includes ticket to Alhambra. I wonder if the Alhambra Web ticket purchase utilizes VISA Verification. See my other posts on the process. I do not have the number in front of me. Chase Sapphire/Vatican site required this specific verification. It is specific to the merchant and VISA, not your issuing bank. Oh, I all ready put the information down. Has someone tried it?
