Devour Tours in Granada

Just wanted to post an FYI as I know others have used this company - I contacted Devour Tours as they have a Tapas tour in Granada I was interested in. They got back with me and said that starting January 2019 they would no longer be doing tours in Granada. Still doing tours in all their other cities and I'm looking at their Triana neighborhood tour in Sevilla.

we didn't do Devour Tours, but our favorite restaurant in Sevilla, was in the Triana neighborhood, Las Golondrinas, at Calle Antillano Campos 26 (there are two of them not sure if they are affiliated or not) I won't take credit for the find because it was in the RS guide. Get there at opening if you'd like a table. The first level is traditional tapas served at the bar. Upstairs is more waiter served with a slightly different menu. Amazing food, fun place. It definitely was also one of favorites on our whole trip as well.

We went on Devour’s Taverns and Tapas tour in Seville in October and had a great evening. Very engaging and knowledgeable guide who took us to a wide range of interesting places, eating fabulous food and gaining an insight into the history of Seville and some of this customs.

Bummer! I was looking forward to doing this tour one day in Granada!

I'm planning on doing their Triana tour in a couple weeks, though, I'm sure it'll be great.

Thanks all! Jules m, did you stay in the tapas bar or go for dinner? Boatharbour, thanks for the restaurant tip! Caroline, please let us know how your Triana tour goes!

I'm now thinking about the tapas tour that Cicerone offers. The company is recommended in RS's guidebook for the city tour and Alhambra, but I noticed they have a tapas tour in the Albayzin. I think that would be a good tour to take the day we arrive as we are staying there and would be good to get an orientation.

We went upstairs, mostly because we had no idea there was a difference. It was nice to have a table and a waiter. We sat near the edge (it is like a large balcony) so we could watch the activity below. I would have been happy upstairs or down. It appeared the difference was that there were smaller plates downstairs so they could make more choices. Upstairs the portions were larger or several tapas size were combined into one selection, I would guess to make it easier for the server. The baby squid was amazing. Tender and tasted wood grilled.

Jules, thanks for the additional information. While we will certainly be doing a lot of tapas, I'm sure we'll also want some 'regular' meals as well.

If you are still interested in a tapas tour in Granada, we used Granada Tapas Tours last April and enjoyed it very much. Good sampling of the food, drink and traditions in Granada.

Thanks, Deb, I'm also looking at that company as they have a couple interesting looking tours!
